The hit Paramount Network sitcom is nearing the end of its run, and we know you've been waiting for any updates. Thankfully,
in an interview with People published on July 30, Luke Grimes (who plays Kayce Dutton) provided an extensive update on the show's current status.
"We have not [started filming the second half of season 5] because of the [WGA] writers strike," he stated about the show's current condition.
"I believe we would be if it weren't for it. But that takes precedence over everything else. They have to get things straightened out first, and then we'll get to work."
Regardless of Yellowstone's filming schedule, the Happiness for Beginners star has stated that he is excited about whatever plot his character will be part in.
"Here's the thing with Yellowstone and my character: Hope doesn't happen," he said to People. "I just learned to take things as they come."
Luke's statements on the status of Season 5 Part 2 make sense, given that show creator Taylor Sheridan told
The Hollywood Reporter in June that he had suspended writing in favor of the ongoing strike.
