Marlins bombard Astros with 25-year-old home run onslaught

After a 5-1 victory over the Houston Astros on Monday, the Miami Marlins moved into third place in the National League East.

With plenty of time remaining to make a playoff push, the Marlins are looking up at the Philadelphia Phillies and Atlanta Braves.

Former Astro Yuli Gurriel recently shared his thoughts on seeing his former colleagues in Houston.

An ex-Marlins owner chastised Derek Jeter, who is part of a Marlins ownership group, for removing a center field statue from the team's LoanDepot Park.

Despite the team's problems at times, the Marlins have had an entertaining season.

Position players Jorge Soler, Luis Arraez, and Josh Bell collaborated on Monday to accomplish a feat not seen in a Marlins baseball game since 1998.

The Marlins had been third-to-last in MLB in home runs so far this season, making Monday's performance all the more impressive.

The Marlins are starting to play their best ball as the season approaches its inevitable second-half climax.
