Luke Grimes Performs "Hold On" With Foy Vance

Luke Grimes has released a new version of "Hold On," his song from earlier this year, featuring Foy Vance.

After a failed songwriting session, Vance proposed "Hold On," which he composed with Ilsey Juber, to the Mercury Nashville/Range Music artist and his team. 

Grimes recorded it with producer Dave Cobb for his upcoming album, then asked Vance to record a duet remotely. Virtual collaboration produced the new release.

Grimes calls "Hold On" her favorite song on the next album. I wanted Foy Vance, one of my favorite songwriters, on this record even though we couldn't meet. I like the words of this uncut song he had

Fear of falling too deeply for someone and being hurt is familiar. "Anyone who has had their heart broken feels it." 

 Vance adds: “I was so happy to hear that Luke had cut ‘Hold On’ for his debut album and then equally honoured to be asked to duet it with him.”

Grimes' latest song follows Amazon. In honor of another Grimes inspiration, Blaze Foley's "Clay Pigeons" was released in spring.
