Lionsgate says that "John Wick 5" is in the early stages of development.

During a Lionsgate earnings call, Motion Picture Group Chair Joe Drake said that a fifth film in the John Wick series starring Keanu Reeves is already in the works.

Chad Stahelski will be back as the director for the fifth movie, and Keanu Reeves will play the famous killer again.

The fourth movie made $73.8 million USD in the U.S., and reviewers gave it an A CinemaScore.

Overseas, the movie had a great start, making $141.1 million USD in its first week

Drake told The Hollywood Reporter that there is no longer a rule against making a fifth movie. "

There is a will and an openness," he said. And that ending could be seen in many different ways.

We'll all take a short break and then think about whether or not there's a good way to go into five. But there is no sure thing."

Drake said of Reeves and Stahelski's creative process, "Keanu and Chad are very careful to never mess with the audience, and rightly so.
