Former Olympic swimmer Helen Smart dies at 43

Helen Smart, a former Olympic athlete who competed in 2000, has died. She was 43 years old at the time. 

The former swimmer represented Great Britain in the Summer Olympics in Sydney, Australia, in 2000. 

Helen Don-Duncan, her now-maiden name, was her given name at the time. 

Worsley Mesnes Community Primary School in Wigan, England, where Smart was the head teacher until her untimely demise, verified her death.
