In August 2023, Raquel Leviss appeared on Bethenny Frankel's podcast for her first interview since the 10th season of "Vanderpump Rules" ended filming in March 2023 and aired a few months later.
Ariana Madix spoke with Scheana Shay on her podcast “Scheananigans With Scheana Shay” on August 25 to counter Leviss' charges.
"I don't know where this came from, but we weren't cut from previous season to this. Right there, out the window,” she said. I love the program, our staff, our production business, everything
But that is not my motivation in life—let me save the show by destroying my life and starting over.”Later in the podcast, Madix and Shay explored “Vanderpump Rules” cancellation rumors
They refuted it and said season 10 was fantastic even without the scandal, which broke after production.
Executive producer Alex Baskin told Deadline that the scandal's timing “happened to have been perfect.” They believed the conjecture arose from that interview
Baskin did not indicate the program was canceled, but he said they had a “tough” season 9 during the pandemic and were happy for a 10th season. Baskin remarked “We had a resurgence anyway” that season
Shay challenged Madix about Leviss' claim that the Scandoval was a “fabrication to save the show” amid rumors that “Vanderpump Rules” will be canceled in season 10
