After an injury, the Browns are expected to cut a $10 million pro bowler.

Jakeem Grant Sr. entered Saturday's preseason finale hoping to stay on the Cleveland Browns, but one play ended his aspirations.

Grant faced an uphill struggle to make the squad in 2023 just one year after the Browns signed him to a three-year, $10 million contract

The 2021 Pro Bowl return guy, previously of the Miami Dolphins and Chicago Bears, was expected to return for Cleveland last season as a second-string wide receiver.

Grant tore his Achilles tendon in August 2022, derailing such intentions.

In the Browns' preseason finale against the Kansas City Chiefs on Saturday, August 26, Grant returned the opening kickoff and was carried off the field with a suspected knee injury.

Grant's injury was not disclosed by the organization as of Saturday night, but leaving the field on a cart for the second offseason has all but doomed him. Chris Pokorny of SB Nation's Dawgs by Nature predicted Grant's cut when the Browns cut to 53 on August 29.

Pokorney predicted wide receiver Austin Watkins Jr. will make the 53-man roster

The 25-year-old rookie surprised training camp with 16 catches for 257 yards and two touchdowns in four preseason games.
